With the launch of the Mavic 4 Pro, DJI has unveiled a new high-end remote control: the DJI RC Pro 2. Presented as the new standard for demanding pilots, it promises a smoother, more immersive and, above all, more professional experience. But beyond the design and the promises, does this RC Pro 2 really change the game? And if you already have an RC Pro, should you consider upgrading to version 2? Here is our full analysis.

DJI RC Pro 2: Screen, design and controls

| Dimensions folded (L x W x H) | 182 × 139 × 61 mm |
| Weight | 750 g |
| Screen size | 7.02 inches |
| Screen definition | 1920 × 1200 |
| Refresh rate | 60 fps |
| Brightness | 2000 nits |
| Internal storage | 128 GB |
At first glance, the DJI RC Pro 2 makes an immediate impact. At 182 × 139 × 61 mm when folded, and weighing in at 750 g, it’s much bulkier than a DJI RC 2, but also clearly more ambitious. And it’s thescreen that really catches the eye – literally and figuratively.
A large screen designed for the field
The RC Pro 2 features a retractable 7-inch screen, much larger than that of conventional RCs (5.5 inches on the RC 2 or the first RC Pro). It boasts 1920 × 1200 resolution at 60 fps, with 2000 nits of brightness – almost three times as much as the RC 2. Even in bright sunlight, the image remains perfectly visible, with no annoying reflections. A real plus in the field.
This large screen deploys on an articulated arm, above the joysticks. As a result, you can maintain a more natural posture, without having to constantly look down. The screen is also swivel-mounted, so you can adjust the viewing angle according to whether you’re sitting or standing, and to the ambient light. A real comfort of use.
Foldable design and rotatable display
The foldable design is also well thought-out. Theretractable screen automatically deploys the joysticks, and switches on the remote control in the process. On closing, everything folds away neatly. There’s no need to unscrew anything to store the device – even if you do need to replace the sticks. Simple, fast, efficient.
Another clever idea: thescreen can be rotated in portrait mode, automatically synchronizing with the drone’s nacelle (particularly that of the Mavic 4 Pro). The result is an instant vertical shot, with an image that fills the entire screen. Nothing to do with the centered, cropped display found on the RC 2.
Connections and controls
Let’s take a look at the RC Pro 2: all the controls and connectors are right at hand, with a clear, intuitive layout.
- On the top: photo and video release buttons, plus two knobs – one for tilting the cradle, the other customizable (default: zoom).
- Above the screen: the power button.
- Underneath: a USB-C port, a microSD card reader, a true HDMI port for broadcasting video feedback to an external screen, and a screw thread for attaching a strap or harness.
- On the rear: two customizable buttons (C1 and C2), plus a hatch for a 4G dongle.
- On the front: joysticks, a flight mode switch, a back button, a pause/RTH button, a click wheel for camera settings (ISO, exposure, shutter speed, etc.), a customizable 5D button, and status and battery LEDs.
Finally, a built-in microphone lets you record your voice directly, and the USB-C port lets you connect a receiver from the DJI Mic range, such as DJI Mic 2 or Mic Mini.
Storage
The DJI RC Pro 2 features 128 GB of internal memory, compared with just 32 GB on the DJI RC 2 and RC Pro. Enough to comfortably store photos, videos or applications installed on the device. And for those who want even more space, a microSD card slot makes it easy to expand storage capacity.
DJI RC Pro 2: Autonomy and recharging
| Battery | 3100 mAh × 2 |
| Autonomy | 4 hours |
| Recharge time | 1.5 hours (with 65 W charger) |
With its two integrated 3100 mAh batteries, the DJI RC Pro 2 boasts a claimed autonomy of 4 hours. That’s a big step forward, and an hour more than the DJI RC Pro or RC 2, which really comes into its own in the field – especially during long filming sessions or repeated flights.
Another plus point: fast recharging. Thanks to its compatibility with PD chargers up to 65 W, the radio remote control can be fully recharged in around 1h30. Enough to get you back on mission in no time.

DJI RC Pro 2: Transmission and compatibility
| Transmission system | O4 O4+ |
| Compatible drones | DJI Mavic 4 Pro DJI Mini 4 Pro DJI Mini 5 Pro DJI Air 3S DJI Air 3 |
The DJI RC Pro 2 supports DJI’s two latest transmission protocols: O4 and O4+. It is compatible with a selection of recent drones, including :
- DJI Mavic 4 Pro (O4+ transmission)
- DJI Mini 4 Pro (O4 transmission)
- DJI Mini 5 Pro (O4+ transmission)
- DJI Air 3 (O4 transmission)
- DJI Air 3S (O4 transmission)
⚠️ Please note: not all O4-equipped drones are automatically compatible with the RC Pro 2. For example, the DJI Neo, although it also uses O4 transmission, is not currently supported. It remains to be seen whether DJI will extend compatibility to other models in the future.
Transmission performance varies depending on the connected drone:
- Up to 30 km (FCC) / 15 km (CE) with the Mavic 4 Pro
- Up to 20 km (FCC) / 10 km (CE) with Mini 4 Pro, Air 3 and Air 3S
More impressive than the maximum range, however, is the signal’s stability and resistance to interference. According to published tests with the Mavic 4 Pro, the video feed remains smooth, sharp and responsive, even in complex environments — a real advantage for demanding flights or shoots in dense areas.
DJI RC Pro 2 : Features
The DJI RC Pro 2 is more than just a radio remote control. It functions as a genuine Android tablet, capable of browsing the Internet andinstalling applications just like any other mobile device. Fluid navigation, a responsive interface, access to social networks, editing or weather apps: you can do almost anything directly from the remote control, without having to take out your smartphone. A real comfort of use.
It also includes DJI Flight Simulator, a comprehensive simulation tool for stress-free flight training. Users can choose different environments, follow integrated tutorials and find a DJI Fly interface faithful to reality. It even includes photo/video settings, so you can practice setting up your shots as if you were in real flight.
Finally, as mentioned in the design section, the RC Pro 2 also features a built-in microphone, handy for recording live comments during flight or capturing voice notes. And for those who want to go one step further, it is compatible with the DJI Mic 2 and DJI Mic Mini systems, via its USB-C port. An all-in-one solution that makes content creation in the field a breeze.

| Remote control only | 999 € |
|
The DJI RC Pro 2 retails for €999 on its own, the same price as the RC Pro when it first came out. This high price clearly places it in the high-end category, designed for professionals… or enthusiasts ready to invest in the best.
It’s also included in the Mavic 4 Pro Creator bundle, making it a more complete package – but also rather expensive.
This is clearly a premium radio control, reserved for those who have real needs in the field… or simply want to treat themselves to the very best.
Conclusion DJI RC Pro 2: Should you give in?
One thing is clear: the DJI RC Pro 2 is the best consumer radio control ever offered by DJI. With its ultra-bright, rotating screen, meticulous ergonomics, compatibility with the latest drones, and all the thoughtful little touches (foldable design, built-in microphone, generous storage…), we feel we’ve taken it up a notch.
Admittedly, it’s heavier, bulkier and, above all, more expensive than more conventional models. But if you fly often, work as a pro or semi-pro, or are simply looking for the most comfortable flying experience possible, it’s hard to go back once you’ve tried it.
A luxury accessory, yes, but one that really makes a difference.

DJI RC Pro 2 : Frequently asked questions
Can the DJI RC Pro 2 be used with a Mini 4 Pro, Air 3 or Air 3S?
The DJI RC Pro 2 works very well with these drones, but its usefulness depends on your priorities.
👉 With a Mini 4 Pro or a Mini 5 Pro, you lose one of the drone’s big advantages: its compactness. The RC Pro 2 weighs around 750 g, three times as much as the Mini 4 Pro, and takes up a lot more space.
On the other hand, if you’re using several compatible drones, it’s clearly an asset: a single controller to manage everything, with bright screen, full Android and pro commands. A real gain in comfort.
DJI RC Pro 2: which drones is it compatible with?
It is compatible with four models to date:
- DJI Mavic 4 Pro
- DJI Air 3
- DJI Air 3S
- DJI Mini 4 Pro
- DJI Mini 5 Pro
Can I install Android applications on the DJI RC Pro 2?
Yes, that’s right. The DJI RC Pro 2 runs on Android, and you can install third-party applications such as TikTok, Instagram, editing, streaming and file transfer apps. You can also browse the Internet directly from the remote control.
Is the charger included with the DJI RC Pro 2?
No, not if you buy it on its own. If you want to take advantage of the 65W fast charge (about 1h30 for a full charge), you’ll need a compatible PD charger. This charger is only included in the Mavic 4 Pro Creator Pack. If you’re buying the RC Pro 2 on its own, remember to equip yourself accordingly.
