id=\"The_design\"><\/span>The design<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First of all, the device is heavier than the first generation. Its dimensions are slightly larger, and while the DJI Osmo Pocket and Pocket weighed 116g and 117g respectively, this new edition climbs to 179g. Even so, it&#8217;s still just a little more than a GoPro-type action camera, and the Osmo Pocket 3 is still very <strong>compact, lightweight and convenient<\/strong> to carry.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This extra weight is essentially due to the two most remarkable changes in this new edition: a 1-inch <strong>larger sensor<\/strong> (more on this later), and a <strong>new touch screen<\/strong> that doubles in size to 2 inches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new screen offers considerable savings<strong> <\/strong>visual comfort and makes tactile navigation much easier. With a brightness of 700 nits, its special feature is that it <strong>can be rotated<\/strong> through 90\u00b0 to switch from landscape to portrait mode, and also to switch the camera on and off.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The device is<strong> very well designed<\/strong>, with each component blending seamlessly into the overall design and interacting seamlessly with the others. Next to the record button is the 5D button, a clickable mini joystick that controls the gondola and navigates menus. The USB-C charging port is located at the very bottom, beneath the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last but not least, there&#8217;s <strong>no internal memory<\/strong>, as shots are stored on an external memory card. The camera can accommodate micro SD cards up to 512GB in capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Battery_and_autonomy\"><\/span>Battery and autonomy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Battery capacity has been increased, and DJI claims <strong>up to 166 minutes<\/strong> of recording in 4K resolution, which is very comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you opt for the Creator pack (or buy it separately), you can even clip an <strong>additional battery<\/strong> to the base of the camera, further extending its autonomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another positive point is the <strong>charging time<\/strong>. According to the manufacturer&#8217;s data, the device can be charged to 80% of its total capacity in just 16 minutes, and to 100% in 32 minutes. Mind you, the result on a GoPro or Osmo Action is remarkable, but the Pocket won&#8217;t need to nibble into the image to achieve it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pod also <strong>offers all the movement possibilities <\/strong>of larger stabilizers such as those in the DJI Ronin range. The Osmo Pocket 3 features 3 Tracking, Horizon Lock and FPV modes for fluid, creative movement, to make your shots look like the greatest Hollywood hits. \ud83d\ude0b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Follow-up_of_the_subject\"><\/span>Follow-up of the subject<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to <strong>ActiveTrack 6.<\/strong>0, the gondola can also be used to track a subject. The camera can not only detect faces, but also track a selected object or person, and follow this target in all directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This function already works very well on the company&#8217;s drones, and unsurprisingly so on the Osmo Pocket 3. Even in low light and at varying distances, the camera never loses sight of the target, and gondola movements are fluid. Ideal for vloggers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sound_recording\"><\/span>Sound recording<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>By default, the camera is equipped with <strong>3 microphones<\/strong> spread over its surface, enabling omnidirectional sound recording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the camera can also be used with the <strong>DJI Mic 2 Bluetooth microphone<\/strong>. Supplied in the Creator pack or sold separately with a windscreen, this will enable you to clearly record the sound of your voice when you&#8217;re at a distance from the camera, and also control the recording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Other_functions\"><\/span>Other functions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is clearly aimed at vloggers and other social media content creators, and the vertical shooting mode is a clear indication of this. This is also the case for the Live <strong>Broadcast<\/strong> function, which as the name suggests, will enable streaming fans to use their Pocket 3 for this purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you use several cameras, the <strong>Timecode<\/strong> function lets you synchronize all the tracks from these different devices in your editing software at the click of a button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last but not least, the Osmo Pocket 3 can be used with the<strong>DJI Mimo application<\/strong>.
